FAQ's
What is a Golden Irish?
A Golden Irish is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Irish Setter. Our puppies are a first generation (F1) cross between our purebred Golden Retriever and our purebred Irish Setter, meaning our puppies are 50% Golden Retriever and 50% Irish Setter.
Why Golden Irish?
By crossbreeding between these two remarkable breeds our desire is to create a:
- Genetically healthy puppy, with reduced chance of specific purebred genetics that can lead to inherited diseases.
- Striking puppy, with the Golden Retrievers shining coat and handsome features combined with the Irish Setters gorgeous feathered red coat and long ears you end up with a stunning puppy.
- Puppy with a wonderful personality, that is loyal, loves people, perfect for a family, and that can adjust well to any situation.
- Puppy with less shedding than most purebred Golden Retrievers. Irish Setters have a silky coat and lack the double coat that is the cause of the excessive shedding in the Golden Retriever's gorgeous coat, by crossing the two breeds you reduce shedding, though this will vary between pups in each litter.
